Delighting Is Now on the App Store and Google Play

Delighting, the Christian AI companion, is now on the Apple App Store and Google Play. One account, a private journal, and how to choose where to start.

· 5 min read

When we started Delighting, it lived on the web. That was enough to begin, but most of our days happen on a phone, in the car, in a waiting room, on a couch at night. So we wanted Delighting to be where you already are.

Today it is on both of the places most people get their apps. Delighting is on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android.

In short

Delighting is a faith-centered AI companion with a Daily Word from Scripture each morning, honest conversation that answers from the Bible and shows its sources, and a private, encrypted journal. It is now available on the Apple App Store and on Google Play, as well as on the web at delighting.ai. One account works everywhere. It is free to begin.

Where to get it

iPhone and iPad. Delighting: Faith Companion on the App Store. It is a native app for iPhone and iPad, with a Home Screen widget for the Daily Word and sign in with Apple. On a Mac with Apple silicon it can run as an iPhone and iPad app. Read the full guide, Delighting on iPhone and iPad.

Android. Delighting on Google Play, for Android phones and tablets. Read the full guide, Delighting on Android.

The web. delighting.ai in any browser, on any computer, with nothing to install.

One account, wherever you are

You do not need a separate account for each device. Sign in the same way and everything you have saved is there: your journal, your prayer log, your saved verses, and your past conversations. Write an entry on your phone at night and read it on a computer the next morning.

That matters more than it sounds. A habit with God does not happen on one device. It happens on whichever one is in your hand when you have a quiet minute.

What you get on each

The heart of Delighting is the same everywhere.

A Daily Word. One passage each morning with a short reflection, meant to be read slowly. Read it any time at the Daily Word.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

— Psalm 119:105 (BSB)

Honest conversation. Ask the questions you carry. Delighting answers from Scripture and the long tradition of Christian thought, and shows where each answer comes from so you can check it against your Bible. It is an AI, and it says so. It can be wrong, it does not hear from God, and it is not a pastor. The AI disclosure explains what it can and cannot do. Start a conversation any time.

A private journal. The journal and prayer log are places to write what you are learning, what you are praying for, and what you are grieving.

Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

— Psalm 37:4 (BSB)

There are small differences in how each store works. The iPhone and iPad app is built natively for Apple devices, with a widget and sign in with Apple. The Android app opens delighting.ai full screen, so improvements to the website reach it at the same time. Either way, you get the same Delighting.

Your journal stays yours

Of everything in the app, the journal is the part we protect most carefully. Entries are encrypted before they are stored, so the words you write are not kept as plain text on our servers. Nothing you write is used to train anything, and your data is never sold. In the iPhone app you can export what you have written, and delete your account, whenever you choose. We wrote more about this in is your prayer journal private.

How to pick

This is not a hard choice.

  • If you carry an iPhone or iPad, get the App Store version.
  • If you carry an Android phone or tablet, get the Google Play version.
  • If you use both, install both. They share one account.
  • If you are on a computer, or just curious, start at delighting.ai and add the app later.

One note on cost. Both apps are free to start, with the Daily Word, journal, and a daily allowance of conversations. Premium, an optional plan with unlimited conversations, voice input, and documents, is sold on the web and through the Apple App Store. It is not sold inside the Android app. See pricing for details.

Questions people ask about the apps

Will I lose anything if I switch phones

No. Your journal, saved verses, and conversations live with your account, not with the device. If you move from Android to iPhone, or the other way, sign in and pick up where you left off.

Is Delighting a replacement for church

No, and it is not trying to be. It is a tool, built by Christians, meant to send you back to your Bible, your prayers, and your local church. A Daily Word and a few questions on your phone cannot replace singing, listening, and being known by people who love you.

Can I trust the answers

Treat them the way you would treat a thoughtful friend who has read a lot. Delighting names the sources behind an answer so you can open your Bible and check, and it tells you when traditions honestly disagree. On the web and Android you can report any reply that seems wrong, and it will be flagged for review. For a deeper look, read what to look for in an AI Bible companion.

Why did you build it

Because many questions about God have nowhere to go. The story is in why we built Delighting.

A gentle word about phones

An app on your phone can help you meet God, or it can become one more thing that tugs at you. We built Delighting with no feed to scroll, and a quiet streak that encourages and never scolds. A good day ends with you having read a passage, understood it a little better, prayed about it, and put the phone down.

Be still, and know that I am God.

— Psalm 46:10 (BSB)
