Notifications & your Daily Word
Your Daily Word arrives each morning with a passage and a short reflection. Here is how to choose when it lands and how to be reminded.
Setting your delivery time
Each day you receive a Daily Word: a Scripture passage and a brief reflection to sit with. You choose what time of day it is ready for you.
Open Settings and go to the Daily Word section. You can pick one of five preset times or enter a custom time. If you set an unusual time during onboarding, it shows up in the custom field so you can adjust it.
Your time zone is detected for you and shown so you can confirm it. You do not need to set it by hand.
When you first arrive, before your first word has been created, you will see a gentle note that your first Daily Word will arrive in the morning, along with a link to set your time.
Turning the Daily Word on or off
A simple toggle controls whether you receive the daily verse at all. Turn it on to opt in, or off to pause it. Your choice saves right away.
You can change this whenever you like. There is no penalty for taking a break and coming back later.
Notifications
You can turn on notifications so your Daily Word gently reminds you when it is ready. Turn them on in the Daily Word settings.
When you turn them on, your browser or iPhone will ask for permission. Allow it, and reminders will appear with the Delighting icon. You can turn this off at any time.
Email reminders
You can choose to receive your Daily Word by email as well. Turn on Email me today's word in the Daily Word settings and it goes to your account address each morning at your delivery time. Your choice is saved right away.
If you have opted in and a morning passes without an email, check your spam folder first, then let us know from the Contact page so we can look into it.
Quiet hours and how often we notify you
Quiet hours let you set a window, say 9 pm to 7 am, during which we will not send notifications. Your Daily Word is still waiting in the app; it simply will not interrupt you.
Notifications per day caps how many notifications we send in a single day. The default is one, the morning Daily Word. Choosing Off mutes notifications entirely while keeping the word in the app.
A separate Daily Word notifications toggle lets you keep receiving the word in the app but stop its notifications. Everything here is meant to keep the Daily Word a calm part of your day, never a noisy one.
