Getting started with Delighting

When you first arrive

The first time you visit, you land on a quiet welcome: the Delighting name, a sentence about what this is, and the three things you will find here — a daily word, honest conversation, and a private journal.

Two gentle doors sit below. "Begin" starts you off; "Sign in" is for when you have been here before.

There is nothing you must do. You are welcome to simply look around. When you are ready, choose Begin.

The Daily Word

The Daily Word is a single passage of Scripture, offered to you each day. It is meant to be a small, steady moment of reflection rather than a long reading.

You can choose when it arrives. Look for the link to set your delivery time, and pick the part of the day that fits your rhythm. You can change this whenever you like in your settings.

Your very first word arrives the next morning, so the home page may feel sparse on day one. That is expected. Give it a day, and the page will have something for you.

Making it yours

When you choose Begin, a short, optional personalization follows. It is fully anonymous, and no account is created while you go through it — it is simply a gentle way to set the tone.

It has four short steps. First, you share what brings you here, choosing from a few simple doorways. Second, you can name a faith tradition if you have one, or stay open and we will keep things non-denominational. Third, you can tell us what to call you and set the time you would like your Daily Word, sliding the sun along an arc across the day. Fourth, you are greeted by name and sent on your way.

You can skip any step that does not fit, and you can leave the time-setting for later. Each choice you make moves you forward on its own, so there is little to click. When you finish, we save your tradition and delivery time so the experience feels a little more like yours.

A few honest notes

Personalizing does not require you to sign up. When you do create an account, the name, tradition, and delivery time you set anonymously carry over automatically — you will not need to set them again.

Your first Daily Word is the same gentle starting point for everyone. Personalized daily words shaped by what you have shared are something we are still building, with more to come.
